Chain of Command

 Raid Leader
  • Has the final word on any issue, except loot.
  • Leads the raid to the camp
  • Directs the action of group leaders
  • Raid Leader is also a group leader

    Group Leaders
  • Report directly to Raid Leader
  • Responsible for getting group to raid location
  • Carry out Raid Leaders commands
  • Directly handle all personnel issues
  • Keeps group together in one location
  • Inform Raid leader of critical information
     GroupsMembers
  • Stay withthe group leader at all times
  • Obey groupleaders
  • Announcecritical (and only critical) information to raid
  • Handletasks associated with your class/role
  • Know whatis expected of your class
         Looters
  • Handle allissues regarding loot.  Their decision is final.
  • Notresponsible for raid decisions.

Basics Rules

  1. Do not engage any mob until told to do so by raid or group leader.
  2. If you draw aggro from a raid level mob, before the engagement, say to yourself "Today is a good day to die" and hold your head high asyou are beaten to death.  DO NOT RUN.
  3. If you get lost, fall in a trap, go LD, etc.. and find yourselfin trouble, DO NOT TRAIN the raid.  One CR is easier and cheaperthan a raid wipe.
  4. Do not ask for equipment, bring your own gear.  Many mageswill happily provide summoned gear if you need something specific, butdo not expect anyone to lend you anything.
  5. Bring your own components.  Do not ask for Symbol, Rune, orSummon Corpse without providing the necessary components.  If theraid requires Levitate - bring bat wings, enduring breath - bring fishscales, etc...

Loot Rules

  1. Looters will be designated before the raid.
  2. Each Looter has final say on who gets what.  Do not ask theraid leader to intervene.
  3. Once an item is announced, only people who are in the raid andcapable of equipping the item may roll for it.  Please use /ran100.  Make sure you are close to the looter when you roll - if thelooter does not see your score, it will not be accepted - no exceptions.
  4. If no one in the raid needs the item, it is up the the looter todetermine whether the item will be banked or offered for ALTs.
  5. If you have won an item, do not roll again.  If you giveyour item away, you still may not roll again.  If it is discoveredthat someone violated this rule, that person will be banned from futureraids.

Corpse Recovery

  1. Wait patiently for CRs.  These things take time.  Ifyou are in a hurry, you should not be in the raid.  If somethinghappens and you're forced to log, kindly inform the raid leader thatyou are in a hurry (onetime).  If possible your CR may be expedited.
  2. In an emergency, if you have to log and are left in a bad place, please contact an Officer of the HORDE, and we will arrange a time fora CR.  Understand that we have real life responsibilities too, andmay notbe able to handle the request immediately.
  3. In the event that your corpse needs summoned, expect to pay forthe coffin.  Coffins can be bough in POK.  The coffin neededdepends on the level of the caster, so make sure you know which one tobuy.
Suggestions
  1. Expect to die.  If the expectation is there, the event willbe much easier to take.
  2. Do not expect loot.  We would love for everyone to get adrop, but chances are most people will not.
  3. Do not expect XP.  Raid experience is low, so do not expectto make that last bubble.
  4. If you go LD, try to get back on quickly.  Inform your groupleader that you were dropped.  If you are unable to return to thegame contact an officer of the HORDE to schedule a corpse recovery.
  5. Know the rules for rez - A corpse will stay on the server for 7days.  During that time you have 3 hours to get aresurrection.  If your account, not necessarily the character thatdied, is logged in (including at the character select screen) that 3hour timer is ticking.  After the 3 rez time expires your corpsecan be summoned, but not resurrected.

Reasons to be Banned

  1. Ninja looting.  No excuse, no warning, good bye.  Ifyou die, you're on your own, good luck on the CR.  Please do notask for help, as it will be ignored.  The incident will bereported to your guild, if you're a member of the HORDE you will bede-guilded and other guilds will be warned.
  2. Failure to follow orders.  There will be one warning. After that, if the offense is repeated expect to be dropped from theraid without explanation.
  3. Spamming.  Do not speak in raid speak and keep group chat toessential info.  If you are asked to keep quiet, and do not youare not following orders.
  4. Begging or harassing follow players, depending on the nature ofthe offense, you may be warned or dropped.

This is the plan I followed to take Vox down.  The instructionsare simple, but complete (when used in conjuction with the raid rulespreviously specified).

Preparation

  1. Gearing up
    • All main characters MUST have MAGIC RESIST and COLD RESIST ofat least 100 - no exceptions
    • Get those levels up, the higher the level the easier it will beto resist
    • AC, HP, stats, mana, etc... are all secondary to resists.
    • Minimum level for the raid should be 40, though higher level character are the key to victory.
  2. Clear the path (with 1 hour to go)
    • Take a small group of high level people and one 52 or under andclearthe way to Vox's lair.  Make sure that someone knows where thetrapsare.
    • Once at the rock door entrance to Vox's lair have the level 52toonpull the Terror in the hall driectly in front of the door.  Thiswillaggro the guards in Vox's room and instantly kill the bait, er, level52 toon.
    • Kill the mobs, they are on a 4 to 6 hour spawn cycle.
    • Import to note - if the team is below 53, there is a goodchance that Vox too will join the fight.
  3. Return to raid point and Pick your groups
    • Main group
      • 2 Healers - 1 healer and a back up healer, or 2 full healers.
      • 1 Bard - Not an option.  You need the bards resists
      • 3 Melee - choose main tank on resists, not AC
    • Second group
      • 1 Healer
      • 1 Bard - highly desired
      • 4 melees
    • Caster group
      • Healer
      • Casters
Buffing

  1. Make sure everyone clears ALL buffs, EVERYTHING! - Buff the raidwith Resist Poison, Resist Disease, Resist Fire,  SOW.  Theseare dummy buffs that will be dispelled.
  2. Protection of Seasons (druid) for COLD resists - lasts 2+hrs, sothis one can be handed out early
  3. KEI - Can be casted early
  4. Magic Resist (chanter) - Wait until you're in the zone
  5. Resist Cold - stacks with Seasons, and should be casted justbefore the pull
  6. HP/AC buffs - just before the pull
Move

  1. Arrive at permafrost
  2. Head to Vox's lair
  3. Watch the traps
  4. Keep EVERYONE together
Last Minute

  1. Hit all of the last minute buffs listed above
  2. Med up
  3. Raid leader, make sure group leaders know the plan
  4. Group leaders, make sure group members know what to do
The Pull

  1. Main group leads the assault, group 2 follows (without attacking)
  2. Pull Vox to the center of the lair - close to the entrance
  3. Groups 1 and 2 engage.
  4. Once Vox is at 70 - 80% health, call for casters
Exit

The passage that leaves Vox's chamber to the SE leads safely back toteh King's room.  There are a few drops along the way, so it's aone way trip, bit it completely avoids the traps and the giants.

Notes

  • Keep the melee damage heavy, as it helps prevent her from healing.
  • Do not let her get pushed against a wall, keep her surrounded -this help prevent her from healing.
  • Casters must be within melee range to cast - recommended underher belly, near back legs
  • This fight may be possible with a single group, but she will mostlikely heal and it will be a long battle.
  • Dragons are ticklish

Do you have any suggestions on how to organize the heals?CH chain? At what percent of health do you start casting?Who spot heals? Who do you just let die? Who heals the healers? Which spells? How to avoid running out of mana? Sit to med?How to avoid getting agro?

Deff sit to med, and if we could find a place to hide so that we're not affected by the debuff and AE that would be best too. From what I've seen in raids and such, CHains are done on a time basis, One person cast then the next person counts a predetermined number of seconds and casts  their CH and then the next person etc. Neither Thangor or Wulf were getting that beat up, so we can take it pretty slow, maybe 7 seconds or 10 seconds even.

From two boxing I've learned that an HoT will rarely grab aggro, but Im not sure how or if that applies on a raid

Theres a few really good CHain on some of the guild websites.

I worry about how often Heal over Time's are going to be dispelled. They will end up in the first open slot, and they won't be efficient if they get dispelled 2 seconds later. Also we need to remind the Main Tank to leave an open spot for them before we head in.I'm thinking of standing a bit behind Vox, to avoid the breath and so she has to turn around to bite us when we get agro, which will make a nice visual cue for the MT to taunt. As I understand Follin's tactics, the healers are responsible for the members of their own group? How should the 2 healers in group 1 split the healing between the MT and the rest of the group?Do you want to try a healers channel?

This contains the original Rules for raiding (Engagement) plus some added rules by previous RLers. The added rules are betwen square brackets, i.e. [new rules] and inserted into the original rules at the appropriate places. These should be reviewed by Horde Officers and voted for adoption, rewriting or deletion in our Rules for Engagement. The new Rules with addendums:Chain of Command------------------------------------------------------------------------ Raid Leader* Has the final word on any issue, except loot.* Leads the raid to the camp* Directs the action of group leaders* Raid Leader is also a group leader     Group Leaders * Report directly to Raid Leader * Responsible for getting group to raid location* Carry out Raid Leaders commands* Directly handle all personnel issues* Keeps group together in one location* Inform Raid leader of critical information     Groups Members* Stay with the group leader at all times* Obey group leaders* Announce critical (and only critical) information to raid* Handle tasks associated with your class/role* Know what is expected of your class          Looters* Handle all issues regarding loot.  Their decision is final.* Not responsible for raid decisions.[ Everyone* Be on time.  The raid cannot wait for you.  If there are key people missing or not enough people to conduct the raid, it will be cancelled.* Sign up for the event.  Failure to sign up for scheduled events will result in forfeiture of all loot rights.]Basics Rules1.
