Wyuping’s book of tactic’s pg. 211Your HUD(heads up display) don’t settle for less.Hi all, as with almost anything, having more information is better. I have discovered that some guildies don’t know that you can download custom UI’s (or HUD’s) to change your ui for a varity of reasons ie: more info, style, bordem, all of the above.A lot of aftermarket hud’s come with the ability to show percentages of health and exp (why SOE didn’t put this in I have no idea, I can see them not using it for HP being there is a displayed numerical value. But I quickly became tired of trying to track my exp with blue and yellow blocks)I highly recommend this website as a source of downloadable custom UI’s as well as tips on making them and installing them:http://www.eqinterface.com/now on to timers:we all have reason’s for needing to keep track of time here and there. For example my mend ability comes up every 6 minutes. Here is a website that has a nice utility on it where you can make and label up to 12 custom timers. That can be used to replace any eq window you want(might I recommend the help window) in the screen shots I am going to attach you will see that my timer window has 6 diff timers on it: mend, thunderous kick, whirlwind, voidance, innerflame and 100 fists. 5 of which are monk disciplines and 1 is a ability.http://www.horizonsoutpost.com/eq/timer.aspon this webpage there is a red message at the top saying the site has moved, just ignore that, the utility that you need is on this page, and the new site is pretty confusing in comparison.Ok here is a short way to replace your UI’s and install timers:For installing a new UI this is what I do:Find my eq folder then I open the following folders GAME then UIFILES.Drag your folder into the UIFILES folder and drag your new ui’s folder in there, I suggest labeling your ui folder something easy to remember so its not a problem loading in your HUD. Once you have put your folder in the command to load your UI is /loadskin (ui) for example like this /loadskin steamworks (my ui is the steamworks ui from eqinterface.com)Now to install a timer, it’s pretty much the same, you open your UI folder inside of UIFILES and drag the timer files you downloaded from the timer site overwriting the older files, close the window forget it boot eq and viola you have a custom timerWell that’s that for my little guide. Here are some other sites I highly recommend your become familiar with if you aren’t allready:http://allakhazam.com/ probably the most in depth database on the game I know of.http://www.eqtraders.com/articles/news_page.php : knowing the recipe to stuff your farming for is quite useful, as well as for tradecraft. http://www.eqdreams.com/ this artist makes killer avatars/portraits and signatures. I highjacked my current avatar from one of his portraits and actually I will be ordering a portrait of Wyu sitting on a pile ice giants in everfrost (where else ). He can be a little pricey but if eq is something you enjoy and you intend to stick with your main why not. http://www.vidiotmaps.com/eq/ forget just using eqatlas this sight has ALL the zones and at least 2 maps for each zone.http://monkly-business.com/ if you’re a monk or are thinking about being one this is the site for you.http://www.eqmac.com/ personally this sight can kiss my firm black panther skin armor encased ass. I feel they are biased beyond belief. But it is the most popular forum for our server.http://www.eqmaps.com/m3/potranquility6.gif as you go planer here are the locations of all the zones reachable from the POTI hope this helpsEVERYONE PLEASE POST THE BEST SITE THAT YOU KNOW OF FOR YOUR CLASS IF YOU DON’T ALLREADY SEE IT IN THIS FORUM SO WE HAVE ALL THE INFO IN ONE PAGE.Good hunting

For rangers, probably one of the best sites is www.eqrangers.com. There are a few others out there, but this is the one I trust most.

Thanks Wyu for all the info. I still haven't gotten around to adding a new UI or timers to my EQ. I use what it came with, and I have a timer on my watch...hehe.

Just FYI: I am (also) Lianfyrr on eqinterface.com, and have posted several full interface conversions and UI add-ons there.

If you see something you like in the PC files section, send me a PM, and I can see if it can be converted for Mac use.
