I have joined a pro basketball team.
Well, "pro" is a strong word, lol, it is a team in the 3rd division (out of 5).
We are not getting paid at all, and we even pay for the gym that we practice at.
Our sponsor is the city we live in, and they are only paying for our place in the league and for our coach.
We had to get a deal with a local computer shop to get the jerseys, lol.

But, the team is serious, we got past pro players and a great coach.
We practice 3 times a week (Sat, Tue, Fri), with 1 game each week (Thursday).

The problem is, that I did not play pro since my youth.
Sure, I played in the Army and in College, but, it was never that serious & challenging.

I am going to be 30 in december, and this is my last chance to live my life as a healthy athlete.
I am not chubby, but, I am 4-6 kilograms more then I should be.
I am surely going to perfect my physical shape, and be a more healthy person, after this season (if I won't get injured).

Even though I played all these years on the street, pro basketball is a different beast.
I need to get used to 5-5 play, which is hard.
My body is not used to this level of physical abuse.

This is why every single muscle is getting strained each practice, I whine & squeak like an old women, and am often out of breath.
Moreover, I completely lost my confidence in my shot, being unable to hit the same shots that I make easy on the street.
This is both frustrating and annoying.

I do hope that as the season will go, I will improve, getting to the same level of my youth.

I'd like to do a Kkowir forst quest: http://swg.wikia.com/wiki/Arena_Challenge:_Face_Wirartu (Requires Rage of the Wookies)
The quest is marked as level 65, yet the previous quest in the same thread is level 35, and the follow up mission is level 35, too. I want to do it with Auset, who is level 44 Jedi as of now. The hint he gives you is:
The challange would be difficult for a single man. However, it would be most suited for a group of three individuals.

So, ideally I'd need two companions in the mid-level range. I will gladly guide you through until this point if you need the Kkowir forest quests yourself.

Well, my RL has somewhat stabilized right now but a free weekend with LoTRO has me back there exploring all the content I'd skipped past the first time.  Some of my SWG friends are there now and they've dragged me into a Kinship.  I'm actually having a pretty good time.  Landroval is to LoTRO what Starsider is to SWG.  Lots of RPers and RP Kinships around.  However, so far, I don't get quite the same sense of community over there that we have.  There's nothing like starsidergalaxy.com or any Kinship that helps folks organize events and plotlines like HGS.

The big draw for me is that there's plenty of interesting stuff to do solo and most everything functions the way it's supposed to.  It's lovely, quite frankly, and the panoramas can be breathtaking.  The roleplay is also a mix.  You've got the whole gamut from daily tavern/cantina soap operas to plotted out storylines and involved characters.  Thus far, my RP's been fairly minimal as I'm still stretching my legs in the gameplay proper.

There's also nothing like Storyteller and the housing system is pretty atrocious compared to SWG's freedom and plethora of options for designing a space.  There is no real "entertainer" class but Minstrels are part of the game and the music system is pretty amazing.  You can design your own tunes and even work out different parts for different instruments/musicians.   There are also, except for the Loremaster class's limited selection, no pets aside from horses.  Horses are basically like SWG's mounts and don't have much of a presence aside from being travel vehicles.

I suppose I don't need to say this but I also am missing starships.  No real analogue in LoTRO for a PoB ship yet.  I suppose they could work in tall ships in a future expansion.  Each expansion seems to add a little more to the world.  First Eregion and Moria and, coming in December, Mirkwood.  Along with each expansion is a new major gameplay option.  Moria brought in the concept of Legendary Weapons that grow and level over time and can be customized as well.   So instead of ditching your favorite sword it just keeps getting better and better as you do.  The system behind it is a bit random and arcane but nothing a SWG vet used to reengineering concepts couldn't handle and, in fact, quite a bit simpler.  Mirkwood will be introducing, among other things, randomized mini-adventures that are scalable to party size and level called Skirmishes.  In addition you'll get a soldier NPC that's customizable and grows in experience with you that you can bring along into them.

If anyone heads over there for a look around send Hagall a /tell.  It's no substitute for SWG but it might be a nice alternative if you need a breather for a while.

Hi Manny! We miss you. Thanks for keeping us up to date on your LoTRO world.

Chronicle Master System just came out so it will be interesting to see what RPers and storytellers can create.

A little more info on LoTRO's music system:

http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Music

http://my.lotro.com/fionnuala/2009/08/29/musical-musings-valuable-lessons/

Anyhow, I just hit Moria and man it's the mother of all dungeons (as it should be).  Almost a world unto itself.  I think I could be spelunking for a while.

So how's that new Chronicles system working out?

Awesome to hear from you Manny.
I know Sharwen plays later at night and if we can schedule something I can join in with Celox and do that quest as well. I am behind on my RoTW questing bigtime. That should make 3 people.

As for the basketball team that is awesome Celox!
Im more than halfwar through my 20's, and after the Talent show I want to get back into breakdancing more and more. Its a great workout and keeps you really strong, and I was very displeased with my performance at the talent show...so I want to train and win the next talent show in two years.
Im scouting around the local area for a few gymnastic clases so I can get air-flares and some other power moves for the next talent show. I really want to break my fear of doing aerials since I broke my leg while trying to do a gainer too.
Aerials and power moves would definitely complete the total package and lock down the talent show victory for sure. All and all while doing that I want to focus more on my Krumping and poplocking. I think I got my uprock and footwork down, and just want to complete the fine tuning of my various moves in my arsenal.
Other than that its a gradual process of unpacking and making this house into a home.
Cannot wait to accomplish my goals, and wish the best to you Celox.
B-ball is fun though Im not great at it. Im tall so I get a lot of rebounds
