"I'm still not sure about this..." The dwarf said, looking at the enclosure he built. He spent two weeks building this place in secret, and now they had the first chance to use it.
The warforged nodded, placing another inside of the enclosure and stepping away from it. "Master, the unit is within. We are ready to proceed."
"I'm tellin' ya. I don't know a lot about these quoriforged beings. They are older than I know what to do with. Most of em are just golems, what makes this one so special?" The dwarf asks, playing with a few controls.
"Mr. Haywire, we found this one in the strangest of locations. It looked to be a storage area, and twenty one of them rested inside, all of the others had been dismantled, but this one had not. I'm not talking smashed apart, they had been carefully taken apart where he had not. The runes where he stood, had they been completed, would have protected him from the falling rocks. Sadly, they did not get finished, and that is why I needed your help." The man says, taking a drink of water and nodding.
Flipping the final switch, electricity jolted into the inert form of the anicent warforged. Moments seemed like hours as it worked. They had spent so much time on a guess, to simply explore an idea. Repair of this unit was not easy, crushed and damaged plates had to be replaced when they could, but one on his forearm simply couldn't be.
When all was said and done, Haywire shut the machine down, letting the sparks slowly die on their own. The eyes of the forged being started to glow, and the door slowly opened for it. Standing and looking around, it seemed to be slightly confused on it's location. Once out, it looked around slowly before finally speaking.
"Unit twenty one, advanced prototype awakened... Where is Delserin?" It asks.
Haywire looked in wonder at the Quoriforged that stood before him, the man stepping forward. "Greetings unit twenty one. I am Devrin, I found you in the ruins of the jungles. Are you operational?"
Delserin looks at the man for a long moment and then to the dwarf. Tilting his head back, he looks to the sky itself. Everything was different now. "Delserin Twentyone... Is operational."
His eyes dim for a moment from their usual color and start to glow a soft purple in color. This was something new on Haywire, he had no idea what to expect. Excited at seeing something new, he smiled inwardly. The human however, seemed to be impatient, as if wanting something from Delserin.
"What is it you want Devrin the Finder?" He asks, the man looking a bit shocked.
"Why my good warforged, you have me mi-"
"Do not lie... My psionic powers are beyond your foolish attempts..." He warns.
"I think it would be a good idea to drop what you think he owes ya lad. This one don't look like he is willin' to play yer game." Haywire spoke softly, looking to the forged before him.
"Delserin, you have been inert for a long time. The war between the Dream Realm and the Giants is long finished, the world has grown from their original place, and from the sundered ruins, much has happened. You are a free being if you wish to be."
Freedom... Where it so easy. Delserin nodded and looked to the city not far from his location. "I shall go." He says, looking over the pair. "I thank you both for bringing Delserin back online."
