Well I finally make it back to the game and then after this last patch it seems I cant log in.


I get the "Examing Game Data" Error and it wont go past that on the log in screen.  I went thru the rigamaru (always wanted to use that word!) of the FAQ support of deleting the .net framework and reinstalling some game files and that didnt seem to help.

I also emailed DDO support, complete waste of time as they gave me advice on how to fix problems with LOTR...when I clearly stated I was inquiring about DDO.   I then went to the online LIVE chat to see if they could help and this was the reply I got. 

Tim: I keep getting stuck at the Login screen at Examine Game Data

Support: What game?

Tim: DDO

Support: What system?

Tim: XP

Support:  I suggest you try what was emailed to yo

Tim: I did, it was the same as what was on the FAQ

Support:  The only way you can be helped is via email

Tim: Then what the hell is your job?

Support: Email is senior support

Tim:   :/

The end....

So if anyone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it I would be forever grateful.

In the process of just doing a complete reinstall now.   Taking forever to DL tho.  Maybe that will fix it.

Seems a complete wipe and a lengthy download fixed it.  So Im back in business.

Shocked they simply didn't reply to you with some canned response! I (quite bluntly) have to make such a stink for a senior wherever (and whenever) I get support and they fail to respond to the issue request, and the senior answers my question in 20 seconds. When I mention the completely wrong answer the script reading monkeys (I apologize...to the monkeys I just insulted) gave me, the senior asks shocked, "Where did you hear that?" When I mention the name of the the peron who escalated (they REALLY do that well BTW,) I get the same sorry about being given the wrong info, we'll investigate why this happened....and India is taking no more call center jobs, yeah, right.

This is time number 3 I had to do this, only because I absolutely try and AVOID support requests whenever possible to save an hour of wasted time when live (or longer when not.)

I'd complain to the community managers if they ever bothered to return an email (and I sent very few) I sent.
 

I'm not cynical, just realisticly pissed as a veteran tech AND call center manager who knows the meaning of the words "support" and "customer service."
