A while back Deriaz and myself where talking about our sibling warforged characters and how they lived in the foundry, particularly about how some of them had been buried during an experiment. This lead to our characters fears of being immobile and other such things that may scare them.

Since then my mind continues to think of all the things I fear, how I coup with them and how my own characters would coup with theirs.

Real life speaking, I'm horrified of heights. I'm 6'2 and standing on top of a chair is enough to make me shake. I blame all the trees I've tumbled out of while being a kid. Or perhaps it's that time when I was six or so and my parents took me up to the mountains to look at old ruins of  a U.S radio station from WW1 and 2, near my home town.
It was winter with a good 3-5 feet of snow on the ground. Most of it pretty hard packed so you could slide over the top of it. That being said, I wanted to see what it looked like from the side of the mountain.. I did.. but only after the snow gave out from under my feet and I could feel that there wasn't any land beneath me. I'll always remember that cliff side with all the jagged rocks and the tiny cars that looked like ants. I've never haled arse like I did that day since.

Another particular fear: claustrophobia. If you ever had something collapse on top of you, like say a snow tunnel, and your completely covered and hardly able to breathe, alone, and knowing full well the only one that is going to save you is yourself - You remember it! And you thank the stars for having a grandmother that made you such a good pair of warm mitts.

Claustrophobia is one fear that I have yet to ever over come in some way or form. I've repelled off walls, and dived off high boards, fighting back that fear of heights. But inclosed areas. Hells no I have to get out. Perhaps that is why most of my characters share that same fear. If they can overcome it one day, maybe I will too.
