(Caution: subject material is suggestive, but not overboard we think.. )

(This is an incredibly rough draft of the happenings last night, and a little lead up to them. It went alot further than i had planned, but then rp does tend to have a life of its own, I shall update and edit it as time presents itself)

Aurel exhibits headaches on and off for weeks. Odd behavior that leaves her sometimes in-capacitated .

(Busy Thursday evening at phoenix)
Aurel nearly pins Quezans hand to the table
Sadbuttrue examines dagger, it crumbles away
Vali asks for each persons view of what happened
Sad suggests a recreation
Quezan is distracted by Janey's knee riding
Lilly, Morrandir and Teldyn examine different parts of Amber and her gear.
Teldyn notices a strong enchantment on the woman herself
Talk about helping her sends her into headache and fit
stumbles to her tavern room
unable to open door as she starts to throw up
Lilly follows her, helps her by opening the door and carrying her in.
Teldyn follows
Decides to cast an anti magic shell
Finds out there is a whole different person once the geas is nullified
She tries to attack Lilly
Lilly gets pissed and sits on her, after teldyn drops the field and Aurel falls to the

ground.
They gather some of the other officers, Vali, Nklos. But things go wrong when Nklos wanst

to take her to a safer place, the argument ensues with Teldyn, Vali threatening to stop

Nklos from leaving with Aurel
Aurel tries to lunge onto Valie blade as she threatens Nklos, but Nklos is unswayed and

Vali ends up killing him.
Then Nklos's body vanishes
Teldyn tells Vali to head back to the guild hall, let them know what is happening
Then does something to fortify himself, Latania waits outside the room and he seals with with a Force spell.
Then casts another antimagic shell and proceeds to interrogate the person behind the geas.

Finds a very sultry, dark female personae, naming herself as Maiyr (an elven name for Death Bringer)
Proves to be a very skilled assassin

(have the screen shots from this point on)
they agree on a wager, who could outlast whom.
She attempts a premature end by nearly garroting him with the chain shirts leather ties.
he dodges, and pins to to the bed.
(i need to get the rest from the screen shots I do have)

(screen shots are finished, this is the text from what I have)

Aurelueithil's form gives a throaty laugh, "I will give you a tidbit then.. you may call me Maiyr, does that make you feel.. more .. acquainted?"

Teldyn said, "Acquainted, perhaps. You, my lady, are nothing but a lion waiting to pounce on its own keepers."

Maiyr bats her lashes.. her mannerisms so not Aurel its frightening. "Then I could purr for your.. or.. other catlike activities." shows her hands, the leather cord she had been playing with seems to have vanished, "see" looking at the work worn stubs of her nails, "I am even de-clawed and its a shame too, nails can be so much.. fun"<smiles slyly>

Teldyn: Would it dampen your enthusiasm to know that when I die, you return to your prison? Because you seem like such a wonderful creature.

Maiyr pouts so prettily its almost heartbreaking. "That.." sweeps her hand out to encompass the room.. "That is nothing, I still don't see this prison you talk of.. unless you are speaking figuratively. prison of the heart.. maybe of.. lust." leans forward a bit, her hands tightening on the edge of the bed, tossing her hair back.

Teldyn moves to the bed, letting a hand out to touch her cheek, his eyes stone cold. "So, what did you have in mind, my dear?"

Maiyr smiles in a smoldering sultry manner, lifting her jaw up into the caress, "I never fail to get the 'desired' results." her voice rumbles, very throaty.

Teldyn: "I see, well then, my little cat shall we play? Perhaps we can talk when your not too busy."

Maiyr: "Magic is .. temporary." she smiles, and turns her head a bit.. glancing out of the corner of her eye "Why talk? Play and pleasure are so much more.. intense?"

Teldyn allows his hand to move up, his finger caressing the top of her ear. Pleasure, you want pleasure? How much can you handle, young one?"

Maiyr: "I have never met my.. match.. most loose their .. stamina way too soon." Her eyes glitter as she speaks.

Teldyn's eyes flash a moment, and then, a peculiar sight, as something not elven seems to seep through them for just a moment of a thought.

Maiyr purrs deep in her throat.

Teldyn: "So what shall it be first."

Maiyr glances to the open door, where the wall shimmers and works at her other ties, smiling as she works them free. "That depends.. what is the wager? Your master won't be too free with what you should be able to negotiate with.. what’s in it for me?"

Teldyn makes himself comfortable, a smile splits his face.

Maiyr wrinkles her nose as shelifts the chain shirt over her head.. “By the Mockery.. has this been rolling in.

Teldyn: “Master?” smiles “I have no master, good lady. I am my own man.”

Maiyr tosses the chain shirt towards the rooms doorway.. her head turned towards Teldyn, but he saw her watching the chain hitting the force wall, her face registering how it falls.

Teldyn: “Clever, an interesting way to determine the capacity of this room. I am my own man, you your own woman. What more do we need?

Maiyr: “Has nothing to do with it.. get the stench of that.. sick as far away as possible.. it spoils the .. mood.”

Teldyn: “That I can understand.” Takes of the over-shirt of his outfit, letting it fall to the floor.

Maiyr pauses to look at the bracers on her arms.. then examines the jewelry she is wearing and cocks her head. “We both know who holds your leash, but you do no know my.. contributor.. so.. if I loose.. I give you him, if you fail.. I leave here, as I came.. and your Master gets to live another year, or month or.. what ever.” Smiles as she unclips the now clunky metal bracers.

Teldyn: “I see. Interesting game then, I accept.”

Maiyr drops the bracers to the floor and starts to unlace her boots.. “But I am curious.. where did you get these ridiculous garmets.. My silks are so much more.. touchable.”

Teldyn: “I would understand that. You seem to enjoy wearing all these items though, from what I have seen. Although, I must say, I like you much less, inhibited.”

Maiyr wrinkles her nose, a very winning gesture if one was not so sure it was contrived. “Why would I ever..” cocks her head as she tosses the boots to the far windowed wall.. “Be clad in this junk, I wouldn’t chose this on a lost bet.”

Teldyn: “Then perhaps it was chosen for you, but why care, now that you are free of it all?”

Maiyr stands and shimmies free of the chain leggings, making the whole thing seem some how.. poetry.

Teldyn: “My my, do women always move like that.” He allows his hand to slide up her neck, gently massaging at the pressure points there. His features still blank and hard.

Maiyr settles back down, into the massage.. her eyes glittering.. “so.. Illithin likes to have his apprentices dress up his prisoners.” Pouts as she defiantly leans into the motion, but Teldyn realizes she is doing it in a way to manipulate his hand’s position. She watches him from behind veiled lashes as she licks her lower lip and turns and nips playfully at Teldyn’s hand.

Teldyn allows her to move him, but then starts with his othe hand on her back, letting the motions work seperatly but in a strange harmony. He returns the nip, at her neck, each of his hands moving as it sees fit.

Maiyr moves her body so she is positioned to return the favor, lower down. Then her face goes blank for the briefest second and she whirls into a blur. Striking out at Teldyn’s head with one hand, the leather cord that had vanished earlier snapping taunt towards him, the other hand coming in low.

From the doorway Latania gasps as Teldyn takes a blow to his head, a bruise forming swiftly. As her lower strike lashes out he clamps his hand down on a point on her neck. Using that pressure to pull he down to the bed, allowing his body to over over hers, his eyes boring ito hers, into her head. Maiyr gasps, eyes wide with shock as her right arm goes numb, throwing off her balance, falling to the bed as part of her body refuses to repond, shaking her head to clear her vision.

Teldyn: With intent, “Look into my eyes and know this. You have lost the first round. And not may know how to weild pleasure as a weapon better than I.”

Maiyr: “I will see your head pickeled in jar,” She hisses, all traces of the seductress gone.. as she struggles. “And everything you love, brought low.” Her eyes glitter.. “This is my prom….”

Teldyn smiles, “Perhaps next time, Liante (elven for spider). For now, sleep.” As he wills the anti magic of the field to end.

Maiyr’s features goe blank, then they twist in pain, her body going automatically into a fetal position.. as the muscle cramps return with Aurel.

Teldyn stands and wills away the force cage. He takes a blanket and covers her body with it, gathering her clothing and piling it next to her bed.

Latania waits, as Teldyn calls to Aurel. “Amber, amber? Can you hear me?”

Aurel sobs quietly.. trying to will the pain away, not understanding why this is happening. She nods helplessly.

Teldyn: “You are doing well, I don’t know how to make the pain any less, but I intend to help you however I can. But I must keep that vixen locked away behind the cage. She endangers us all. I promis you that I will stop you.. should you loose control, and if you must ask it,  I will end your life, if its your true wish.”

Aurel winces slightly, and tries to turn over.. squinting her eyes.. focusing for a moment on Teldyn, and her eyes grown filled with hopelessness as she sees the bloosoming bruise on his face.. “Oh no.. I could not have. Please.. I do not want to be a danger.”

Teldyn, with his features still unfeeling “Could not have what?” Latania reaches up to slip her hand into Teldyn’s. “As long as you remain as you are, you are not and I will watch over you. You wont be a danger to anyone.”

Aurel shakes her head, “Something came through”

Teldyn takes Latania’s hand, and al his emotions seem to seep back into his features and his countenance. He looks happy, but is also very sad at once. Looking back at Aurel, “What do you mean”

Aurel replays the scene at the table over and over in her head, her sorrow growing.. ”The headaches.. the signal something now.. that dirk.. I am a threat.. I am not worth this.”

Teldyn: “Amber, if we can help you, you will not be a threat again, would you let us help you?”

Aurel: “I want to be safe, but.. “ they see her trying to form the words, but the spell she is under fights against her.

Teldyn “Amber, lets let this go for tonight, I know you are probably tired, and you need to rest.. sound like a plan?”

Aurel nods weakly, “I do not think, I could move from this bed.” She is barely able to lift her head by herself. Teldyn moves over and helps place her fully into the bed, moving her into a comfortable position. He whispers something to Latania and nods, moving to the door.

Latania: “Excuse us for a moment?” Tucks Aurel in, singing a quiet melody of unknown origion, then pulls out a chair and sits down as Aurel tries to nod, turning her head towards the wall. Her body shakes as she suppresses her sobs.

Latania sits on the edge of the bed and offers a hug still humming. “Let it out, it doesn’t do to hold it in.

Aurel fears even hugging Latania, but wants the panic to go away..”I am so .. afraid.” Sags against Latania.

Latania: “I am  not” holds the elven woman close. ‘Let me be strength for you.” Aurel tries to hold on to Latania, her strengths all but gone, sniffling and sobbing herself to sleep. Latania holds her close in her arms, singing softly, until she is certain Aurel is deeply asleep then settles her back down onto the bed.. Aurel is too weak to even move from the position Latania arrangers her in, her breathing so deep its almost scary.

Latania waits for a while to make sure, then slip out and down the hallway. She watches Teldyn sleep for a few minutes before placing a gently hand on his..

::The faint sounds of morning drifted in through the shuttered window, light teasing the edges where the seal was not perfect, refracting off the bubbled glass and dancing with teasing fingers across the interior of the room. Small motes of dust swirled in the light, as the figure on the bed stirred. Aureluiethil awoke slowly, to the sounds of a fruit vender in the street calling out to the folks that passed by. She blinked wearily and turned her head, hissing in pain as her muscles protested. Taking a deep breath she moved to sit up and almost gagged. The smell in the air was still thick with the stench from the night before, the door having sealed in the unsavory smells of her own vomit and terror. She paused, breathing heavily as she attempted to breath in through her mouth. Seeing her clothes piled up in a neat pile on the chest at the foot of her bed, she frowned. Last night had been so hazy, so filled with.. her eyes narrowed, Pain. Pain and horror, about .. something.

Every muscle in her body screamed out in protest as she struggled to a seated position, glancing down she notices she was only wearing the light trews and tunic she habitually wore under her armor. Who? Oh yes.. Latania and Teldyn had helped her get to bed, they must have helped her disrobe enough to be comfortable. No.. that was wrong, it was something else, wasn’t it? She shook her head, trying to remember. Her emerald eyes widened as part of the evening surfaced, swimming up through her memories like a poisonous snake. She brought her hand to her mouth, to stifle the horrified cry. She had, or could have killed someone last night. She vaguely remembered fighting, and blood shed and then.. her eyes nearly rolled back into her head as memories of the pain awoke in her muscles, still stiff and protesting from the night before. Shaking her head, she tried to deny the horrifying memories, but they replayed in her head, teasing her cruely.

Taking a deep breath she struggled to stand, and once she caught her balance she moved to her clothing. Wrinkling her nose at the smell that wafted up from the armor and quilted padding, she soaked a cloth in the water on the small chest of drawers and rinsed the items off the best she could. Biting her lip to keep from whimpering from the pain, she drew on the damp clothing and armor, jerking her hair harshly into a messy braid, she tucked it up under her chain helm and glanced to her closed door. Shaking her head, she reached for her pack, and drew on her boots. Her fingers raced over the empty sheaths that were sew into their linings and remembered. She had left her knives with Vali and.. She closed her eyes, trying not to let the memories overtake her again. With a swift move she walked to the door and threw the simple latch, making sure it was secure before padding over to the window. Withdrawing  a simply crafted sword from a hanging sheath on her pack, she used its razor edge to sever the complex knot on the shutters. Re-sheathing the blade, she paused by the window, holding her breath as she listened intently as she swung open the internal shutters.

Once she noted a pause in the noises outside, she slipped the window open and swung herself clumsily up onto the narrow sill. She paused, glancing back at the room, but shook her head. It would be better this way. Leaping from the sill, Aurel hit the roof outside, a groan crossing her lips as her knees nearly buckled under her weight. Taking a moment to gather her breath, she padded her way to the corner near the alley, slipped down to the ground and took off with a light jog, the city gates leading to the wildes outside of the city firmly pictured in her shattered mind.::

Nklos woke early. He had spent a lot of energy the night before, but always seemed to be full of pep after dying. This thought troubled him for a moment as he dressed.

Slipping out the door to the marketplace Nklos looked around. It was still a bit to get used to the new look. Slipping through through the gates of the Phoenix that early felt a little off. The phoenix feels a little off that early though. The mixture of the guards eating breakfast before they started the first shift, sitting next to the tables still with drunk patrons snoring away from the night before made for an interesting ambiance. "Bowl of oatmeal if you don't mind Skully." Nklos said as he passed by the front bar toward the back of the tavern. "Cog. How's it going?" he nodded as his stomach growled. The smell of Adamantius' fresh batch of flap jacks came woffting in from the kitchen.

As Nklos walked across the bridge he stopped for a second. No one had gotten around to cleaning up yet. There was a lot of blood on the floor. His blood. "Vallie got me good." he murmurs as he rubbed his neck. No one was around, which is what he expected, and needed to confirm. Pulling an amulet House Phiarlin had given him from his pocket he quickly walked back to the front of the bar. Grabbing the bowl of oat meal from Skullies hand "Thanks love. I'll pay for it when I bring the bowl back." and quickly ran out the door.House Jorasco was his best bet on finding out what was wrong with with Amber. It is where he had examined her before, and it had some of the best medical books in the city. They were also not very happy with Nklos since he sided with Points in the whole, whom owns the Garden House situation. Then again when were they ever happy with him except when he was running their errands. He had enough clout in the House, and could promise enough coin that they would help him with diagnosing Amber once and for all.

::As she wove through the marketplace, her body screamed at such exertion, her muscles still leaden from the punishment earlier. She paused before turning a corner towards the harbor gate and froze. Two voices were talking with a city guard, she recognized one and frowned. Should she continue on, or.. She did not want to complicate this, and decided on an alternative plan. Turning sharply, she made her way to House Denieth. Weaving in and out of the foot traffic, she blended in like any other weary adventurer. Passing the arms shops, she darted into one and exchanged a handful of platinum coins for two replacement knives, lamenting the loss of her well worn blades. Once the knives were in their sheaths, she headed out.

She approached the woman, glancing about once to make sure she saw no familiar faces she spoke quietly with Evi Joss. After securing passage, she took to her berth, taking a lower hammock she lay down, turning to the wall and covering her head with her arm to avoid recognition. She though over her threadbare plan. At least with the normal traffic of the Cove, she would not have to worry about harming anyone she cared for and once she vanished into the wilds there, either the environment and its denizens would take care of her or she would be so isolated, that only the things that would attack her would have to fear. It pained her deeply, still so many things were a mystery to her, her memory so full of holes yet to be filled. Since solving this puzzle was harming folks, it was best if she dissapeared, completly::

((Heres the deal, I am going to do a post a day. <smiles> to continue this storyline along, and to keep folks entertained, people can join in as they wish or just enjoy the privete hell that is Aurel's world at this point. Am always open to suggestions and advice, and happy to accomidate anyone who wants to chip in. Chuckles.. its a complex thing that is happening, and I am trying to juggle to the best of my abilities.))

::Another blast of heat, born aloft by near searing winds in a whirl pool of invisible fury tossed the russet curls of hair back into her face, those tendrils that had escaped the tight braid she habitually wore. She perched on the ledge, the edges of her feet almost curled around its lip, the cave to her back seeming to breath the heated air in and out. Aurel used one hand, fingers splayed off to her right against the nearly superheated rock to maintain her balance as she stared down into the rolling lava below. Her features intent on the shifting liquid rock, as her thoughts rolled as violently in her mind.

It had taken two days to purge her body of the cramps that had slowed her movements and thrown her balance off, but she had finally banished all but the faintest twinges. Only pale whispering echo remained, here in the flex of an arm, there in the slight twitch of the muscle in her thigh. The re-supply at the Black Loch had gone uneventful, and she had slipped into the wilds with the barest of notice from the unwholesome denizens of that fetid series of caves. Tracking through the wilds had proven to be no challenge, but the few encounters with the wild populace had helped chase the clumsiness from her limbs, until she at last reached this perch. It was simple enough to sneak past the elementals that guarded the pools so jealously, the odd mephit that caught sight of her left melting in icy shards behind her, her chilled blade barely registering the change in temperature.

Here was her destination, the rolling chaos of the lava pools, the heated air bring a ruddy color to her lightly tanned cheeks. She took a deep breath as she tried to quell the conflicting thoughts in her head. A few tears squeezed from her eyes, tracing down her cheeks, to fall from her chin, soon evaporated as they left the touch of her flesh. She bit her lower lip as she contemplated the molten rock below. Fire purified everything, did it not??::

::Aurel must have stared at the flaming pool below for hours, watching as leaves and other debris caught by the cyclonic gust got swept into the heated air and were reduced to ash in mere fractions of a second. She stood and glanced over towards the horizon as the setting sun painted the sky crimson and gold, magnificent purples clashing with silver clouds creating one last glorious sunset.

As the last rays of the sun dipped below the horizon, bathing the darkening sky above with faint fingers of pink and gold, she took a deep breath and closed her eyes, preparing to step off the ledge and into fiery gulf below. As Aurel moved to lift her leg, her muscles seized. A whimper crossed her lips as her body refused to move, in fact, her body was backing away from the edge.

When her back hit the cliff wall behind her, she stopped, what ever mysterious force had been controlling her having vanishes as quickly as it had appeared. Had she turned, and the magic shielding him not been so intense, she might have caught a glimpse of silver and gray robes and a bowed head, silver white hair flowing down to join an equally white, well trimmed beard. If her ears had been sharp enough, and his words not muffled by enchantments to render prying ears deaf, she would have heard a light whisper, “That choice is not yours to make, broken one. Your trial is not over, it has barely begun.” For a moment, a second figure joined the first, crouched and hunched, a flash of sickly purplish blue flesh barely visible from beneath heavy robes. “Come friend, you will taint the results.” The second voice slurred and muffled. Then both figures vanish in a silver sparkle of magic and a strange vortex of swirling color.

She collapsed to the ground, beating at the stone in frustration. She couldn’t even end this nightmare; this ‘something’ prevented even that. Tears streamed down Aurel’s face as she lay there, the chill in the nights air absent in this heated perch, but she shivered all the same. Who would she hurt before this was done, one had already tried to help and fell at the blade of their own fellow. Who’s blood would be on her hands next, and what would that do to her already tormented mind..::

::Aurel chewed a piece of trail bread thoughtfully, taking no joy in the sweet flavors of the dried fruit and nuts that packed the rich ration. She hadn’t wanted to eat, had no interest in slacking her thirst. But she found herself seeking out fresh water, reaching into her pack to unwrap the forgotten rations and consuming them in an almost dazed state. She had been ambushed at the waterfall as she filled her water skin, by some of the pirates that made this isle their hideaway. Even then, as she tried to let down her guard, her body responded automatically to avoid the thrusts and slashes of their sabers. It seemed neither by neglect or conscious thought could she end this, this existence.

She watched the play of the water on the rocks as she ate, deep in thought. There was no way she could return to Stormreach, putting the others back in danger. She had no idea where to go from here, there was a faint yearning in her for company, and some faint thoughts of ‘business’ left unfinished. What it could be, she had no idea. If she concentrated on that thought for any length of time, the familiar ache in her head would start to grow, so she tried not to. But like with anything you don’t want to think about, it lurked there, popping up more frequently as she sought to think of other things.::

::Aurel looked down at her leg, frowning, as she wrapped yet another bandage around the recently scoured wound. A double set of teeth marks marred her right calf, the punctures colored a dark purple and angry red. The pale cloth instantly grew dark as the pressure released more blood and fluids. Funny, here she was unable to intentionally hurt herself and then this wound goes and gets infected. Fate couldn’t have dealt her a more ironic hand. She was barely able to hobble back to her camp by the waterfall. Though she needed to get to civilization to have it taken care of, she couldn’t travel more than a few hundred yards before the weakened leg threatened to give out. Even the enchantment couldn’t force her into a journey that would probably get her killed, in fact, her instincts and what ever magic’s held her forced her to care for the wound, knowing that was her best chance of survival now.

She had been simply fetching water one particularly large hyena had snuck up behind her and nearly hamstrung her. She managed to fend off more attacks and caught the gaze of one that was lingering in the back. After befriending that beast and using that animal to keep the others off her back trail, she used what potions she had left to stop the bleeding, but it wasn’t enough, and now. Aurel shook her head laughing at the situation. Returning to her camp, she glanced at the covered hole, where she had left a haunch of venison roasting. The hyena she had named Smiles lifted its head in greeting. The smell of the roasted meat made her mouth water despite her dislike of eating meat. With her leg so badly damaged, Aurel knew she would all the good protein she could get to help her body fight the infection, she just wished she could have found some greens to make the meal more, edible.::

::Turning on her bedroll, her leg was throbbing, alternatively hot and cold. Shaking her head, Aurel reached for the small ceramic pot she had half buried in the coals of the fire and dipped a battered metal cup into the steaming liquid. Her hand shook as she brought the cup to her mouth and blew on the contents, the smell of the broth waking the mangy hyena that slept nearby. She grimaced as she drank half the cup and then shook her head, she couldn’t handle any more at this time. She laid the cup on the ground for the hyena and laid back down. She knew her leg was getting worse, but she had been only able to travel half a mile that day, before the pain had gotten too intense. Luckily, she had found a heavily foliaged area near a source of fresh water in which to make camp. The silent compulsion to save her own skin worked with her innate self preservation, having chased her depression away for the time being. The only thought on Aurel’s mind was to find some aid now, but even that was looking bleak.::

::Taking her pot, now steaming with boiling water and some astringent herbs she had managed to forage, Aurel hobbled towards the stream bed. Smiles trotted behind her, her belly full with fish she had scavenged off the beach. The hyena sat downwind from Aurel as the ranger seated herself on a flat rock at the edge of the water. Here, at the mouth of the stream and the sea, she had the perfect mix of salt and fresh water for what she planned next. She reached into her pack and pulled out a horsehair brush that she had boiled earlier, and set the pot down in a small scooped out bit of sand. Making sure the pot was set so it wouldn’t tip over, she immersed the brush into the pot and let it soak in the heated liquid as she removed the bandages. As Aurel unwrapped the cloth, the smell of the injury assaulted her nostrils. The skin was darkening, and a few darker tendrils followed the veins in her leg for several inches. She winced at the sight of yellowish pus mixing with the darkened blood oozing to the wounds’ surface as the bandages peeled away.

Dropping the bandages into the water, she weighed an end down with a rock, letting them float freely in the current. Then taking a deep breath she dunked her leg into the water. Tears welled in her eyes as the chill of the freshwater and the tang of the salty swept into the weeping wounds. As she lets the water partially numb the flesh, she rolls up one of her gloves, the other tucked into her belt. Once the leather is rolled tight, she puts it into her mouth, and removes her leg from the water, picking up the brush from the pot, she takes a deep breath and starts to scrub her leg hard. Biting down with agony onto the rolled leather, she blinks past blinding tears as she assaults the sickened flesh with the rough bristles, blood and fluids being released in the stream and swept out to sea. She dipped the brush into the herbal water and back to scrubbing as many time as she could stomach, until finally she dropped the brush to the sand and lay there panting, spitting out the glove, feeling faint and slightly ill. The chilled water drew away the infected fluids and the blood, washing it out and into the ocean, her strength ebbing as the injury throbbed.::
