Mail Notification v6
by Mottie
Description
This mod opens a popup to notify you if you have a new mail message. It was written for users who wish to hide their top menu bar (state bar/log in bar). Or if you just want a bigger message telling you that you have mail. I've set it up to open either a growl window (timed popup) or a facebox (popup you have to close).
For more information on the custom variables, please see
this post
.
To style the growl window (pictured above), use the "Growl Window Styling" Mod or refer to
this post
.
To style the Facebox popup window, please refer to
this post
.

Signup Status Color v5
by Mottie
Description
This mod will add CSS classes to the character status, so you can set the color yourself with the CSS and the script will do the rest. Within the script, you can set it to just color the Status column or the entire row. This is what it will look like:
*Note: this is an old screenshot, but the code still works

Fingers of Fury!
I have been trying to get my personal avartar showing so I can inform my site members how to set it up for themselves. So I go into
Characters & Settings
, select my first character, then
General Character Info
, and lastly enter in my Photobucket URL for my thumbnail.
Is this correct or is there another location to specify your avatar?
If this is correct, then nothing is happening.
Does URL file sizes have to be 8kb or less as for uploaded thumbnails? I wouldn't think so, as I have a number of old members with avatars that are 400 x 100 pixels in size and are in colour, but I may be wrong.
I do have 3 other characters listed as well, but have not specified a thumbnail (avatar) for them. Do I need to specify the same thumbnail for each?
Can anyone explain how to set up avatars because there is nothing in the Admin's Getting Stated Guide or the Customisation PDFs?
Cheers,
- Firegal

Well, I never knew you could set Avatars for the individual characters, so I learned something.
When you go to
Character/Settings
, click
Preferences
at the top, then under
Posting Preferences
, enter your
Thumbnail Image URL
. That will show up in the forums.
As for size limitations, as long as the image is hosted off site (or in File Manager for paid subscribers), it can be as large as you want. If you want to limit the size of ppls avatars, there is a setting in the
Control Panel: Site Pages, Forums, Forums, Display Options, Force Thumbnail Size
.

Wow thanks. I must have been too impatient because I never let the bottom half of the screen load up before I moved on looking elsewhere.
Cheers,
