well i had to remove it because everything was making me dizzy lol... when u scrolled over a link on the slide out menu it would change the background color O.o so when u scrolled over the links too fast it was like looking at a strobe light LOL...

i am going to try and add everything back in one at a time (not all at once like i did before) and see if i can find out what changed or didnt change...

question: im not sure ud know or not mottie since u are not a GP worker, but why is it that i am a member of two GP sites (cause remember i said the first one ran into some... webmaster issues).. anywho and so when i post information on the new site, tho the widgets are similar when i post em on the new site for just that site, it shows up on the other site (the old one). why is that? i dont want the info on the old site, just the new one... is it because im still a member of the old site (just long enough to get members moved over)??

its kind of annoying and unfortunately i didnt find out till i ended up erasing information from the old site that effected the new site >.<

This should not happen.  The site are not tied like that.  What widgets did you find this issue with?

Honestly i dont remember now. I just created a dumby account on the old site (again so i can move members over to the new site) and removed my main account from the old site and the dual connections stopped appearing.

I know one was the information widget but other than that, i dont remember. :S

Also, i wanted to know if there is a reason why the Information Widget is acting funny.

Ok what i mean is on the old site, when you selected a document from the Information Widget, it would pop up its own little mini window (like a whole new browser but without all the browser tools like forward, backwards, bookmarks, the http search window, etc.) instead of in the Information widget on the page (like it is now on the new site) which pushes all the other widgets down to make room for that information widget.

thats the sites Library page (where the Information widget is located).

Hi CandaraQueen!

Yeah since your image is so big, anything over 1 mb causes photobucket to automatically resize it to make it smaller. I think you're going to have to change the file type from png to jpg and maybe reduce the quality a bit more if the file is still over 1mb. I wouldn't recommend having such a large background image anyway, it increases the perceived load time of the page (initially, until the image is cached) and takes even longer to load for people with slow internet connections.

As for the News box, just add this bit of CSS to your custom css (Control Panel > Custom HTML & Script > Custom CSS > CSS Additions to Standard). Adjust the height (in red) to your preference.
.gpWidget-newslrg .blkContent {
    height: 350px;
    overflow-y: auto;
    overflow-x: hidden; /* this line may not be necessary, unless a horizontal scroll bar appears */
    padding-right: 5px;
}

dosnt work for me

Mottie, I'm using this code from your site and it isn't working for me.  I tried adding the additional "document ready event" code, also from the Help Site, and it still doesn't change anything.  Can you take a look?

Hi Val!

I'm not sure what is going into the document ready event code, but that is css and should go into the custom css section (Control Panel > Custom HTML & Script > Custom CSS > CSS Additions to Standard).

I did add that to the appropriate CSS section.  Nothing changed.  On your Help Site and in this forum, you also stated:

If the css above doesn't work as is for your site, then add this bit of scripting to your custom javascript (Control Panel > Custom HTML & Script > Custom Javascript/JQuery > Document Ready Event tab)
$('.gpWidget-newslrg').find('.blkContent').wrapInner('<div class="blkContent"/>');

That's the script I was referring to.  I also added that when the CSS didn't work by itself.  Together, they still do not seem to change anything.

Hmm, yeah I see that now... it's odd that not all formats include a "blkContent", so try this css instead - no need for the javascript.
.gpWidget-newslrg .ContentBoxBody {
    height: 350px;
    overflow-y: auto;
    overflow-x: hidden; /* this line may not be necessary, unless a horizontal scroll bar appears */
    padding-right: 5px;
}
But if the above still doesn't work, use the original css and this javascript (the one I posted before... I'm not really sure I posted it or if it even worked LOL):
var news = $('.gpWidget-newslrg');
if (!news.find('.blkContent').length) {
  news.find('.ContentBoxBody').wrapInner('<div class="blkContent"/>');
}
