Mail Notification v6
by Mottie
Description
This mod opens a popup to notify you if you have a new mail message. It was written for users who wish to hide their top menu bar (state bar/log in bar). Or if you just want a bigger message telling you that you have mail. I've set it up to open either a growl window (timed popup) or a facebox (popup you have to close).
For more information on the custom variables, please see
this post
.
To style the growl window (pictured above), use the "Growl Window Styling" Mod or refer to
this post
.
To style the Facebox popup window, please refer to
this post

Description
This mod will add CSS classes to the character status, so you can set the color yourself with the CSS and the script will do the rest. Within the script, you can set it to just color the Status column or the entire row. This is what it will look like:

Ok this is really weird problem. First let me expalain what I did.
I created a page on our site that only a super admin can see and that is where i was making and testing a progression list using facebox.
Once I was able to get everything correct and every link worked correctly I moved it to our home page and for some reason it does not work on the homepage. It still functions properly on the admin only test page though lol.
On the admin page when a link is clicked, the facebox window pops up with the appropriate picture in it but on the home page when the link is clicked it redirects your browser to the image instead of being displayed in the facebox window.
Any ideas?

Hi Batu!
The facebox popup only works if you use the following format:
<a href="
URL
"
rel="facebox"
>Click me</a>
The URL (in
red
) can be a direct link to an image or a page
The
rel="facebox"
is required.
If this doesn't fix the problem, then could you share a link to your site?

Yeah that is the format I am using.
Here is 1 line in the list:
<a rel="facebox" href="http://i30.tinypic.com/2r58d3t.jpg">
<span style="color: #ffc000;"><strike><span style="font-size: 11px;">Anashti Sul</strike></a>
Like I said it works on a different page on my site but not the home page. Once on the home page it redirects your browser to the URL of the picture and you have to hit the back button on the browser to get back to the guildportal site. I cant figure out why it works on one page of the site and not another. I'm using a free form text/HTML content box to do the list in.
Here is the URL to my site http://velocityeq2.guildportal.com but I don't have it on the Home page because it is not working so I just have a text list there atm.
Thanks,
Batu

Hi Batu!
I just saved your home page and added that line of code and it worked fine for me... so I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe try reloading the page (hold the shift key and click on the reload button, this will get the page from the web and not from your cache). It's done it to me in the past, but it seems like it's a quirk that disappears the next day *shrug*

I'm having the same problem with my
progression box
. The code worked fine but then facebox no longer appeared. I wonder if this is a guildportal side issue, and if so we should probably submit a ticket.

Yeah I am at a loss. I just tried it again and held shift while reloading the browser page and it still does not work. It always redirects your browser to the URL of the picture instead of just displaying the picture in the facebox pop-up.
Again, it works fine on different pages on the site just not the home page. I have deleted the free form text/HTML content box that I was using and created a new one and still doesnt work. I have no idea why or how to fix this.
I guess I'll create a ticket for it
Thanks for looking into it.

Ok I read your post in another thread about quiting the browser and restarting it and it working. Thats doesnt work for me BUT when I logout and I am not signed in it works fine but when I log back in it doesnt work again until I log back out!
It seems that memebers are saying the same thing. If they logout and go back to the site while not logged in the facebox works but as soons as they log in it does not. I tried with all the levels of access and it doesn't matter if a particular person is set to public access all the way through super admin access. Every level of access seems to produce the same problem, if logged in it doesnt work, if logged out it does.
Any suggestions?

Yeah that is weird lol. Here are a few screen shots of my problem too if your pointing them to this thread in your ticket also.
1. Here is what happens when I am logged in and on the "For Testing" page of our site which is set to super admin only. You can see that On this page it is working when I am logged in, I clicked a name in the list in the free form text/HTML content box on the left and the facebox window pops up and shows the image.
2. Here is the same code, copy and pasted into the same type of content box, on the "Home" page while I am logged in. As you can see when I click any item in the list it redirects my browser to to the URL of the picture and I am no longer on the guild portal site. You have to hit the back button on the browser to get back to velocityeq2.guildportal.com
3. Here is the exact same everything as in step 2 but I am logged out of guild portal completely. When I am not logged in and click an item in the same list you can see the facebox window now works on the "Home" page correctly. It doesnt matter how many times I refresh, log out and in, ect... it just will not work on the home page if logged in. The members of my guild say the same thing happens to them.
Hope that makes sense lol and thank you for helping me Mottie, its appreciated.

I saw double images on Mottie's
WoW test site
.
I am also having the same problems that Batu has with the facebox in the home page. It works when it is freshly loaded but when I click on the facebox again, it redirects to the direct link, not using a facebox.
Thanks for submitting the ticket Batu. I hope there is something that can be done to fix this problem.
