How do I lock the "events" section of my home page? There doesnt seem to be a secruity setting for it, and I would like the events portion of the home page to be viewable only to members.

My advice to you would be to move your events to a new page (tab) of your site instead of the Home page.

Once you have that done, you can go to your page's Control Panel > Site Pages > Display Options (for your Events page) > Level to View.  Set the page to at least Level 2 or higher.  That way, only logged-in associates/ members/ etc. can view the page, or even know it's there.

The visibility of each event is individually managed in the event's entry. If you have "edit" access for the event, just open it and check the drop down menu that is labeled "Invited". This defaults to "public", the other choices are "member" "associate"  "officer" and "super admin"

Easiest time to set this is when an event is created. This will control visibility in the small event box/container that is often found on home page.

The above post about managing the calendar page is correct, and will limit visibility to the whole page.
