Really impressed, Mottie, with your work.

Over the years, i have collected over 100 emotes (even after I filter out the NSFW ones). I'd like to make the entire list of emotes available to my users, but two problems occur:

1) The text editor appears to have valign=middle set, so the post title line is at the top while the actual editor is in the middle of the table cell. This looks very strange and makes it very unfriendly. I seem to be unable to locate a static style that I could modify in the CSS to change this alignment - the class names seem to be generated. The answer might also be to enlarge the text edit control (since the SAVE button is way down at the bottom of the cell).

2) Second problem, the soloution of which might also eliminate the first problem... The list is HUGE. Perhaps your show/hide box or a popup box paradigm might be better.

Got any other ideas or solutions?

Site is at http://ffdrinal.guildportal.com and I currently have all of the emotes set up, if you want to look at what I am talking about.

Hi Shtik!!
  1. I messed around with some CSS and came up with this:
    #Table1 td { vertical-align:top; }
    #customEmotes { width:250px; }
    The top line will move the editor box to the top, but sadly the save button remains at the bottom
    The second line makes the custom emote area wider and doesn't push the save button down as far

  2. I was just thinking that maybe the icons could be grouped? Maybe a popup would be better like turn the custom emotes into a module maybe? I'll mess around with that when I get more time

The custom emotes seem to have broken with the change to the new editor and I can't get the GP custom ones to work:(

Also the GP custom ones have pre-defined names which kinda defeats the ide of 'custom' in the first place.

Any chance of an update or is this now history?

Very good question. I would like the custom emotes to be integrated into the new editor.

I just added this to my site. Thanks for helping me fix some of the code Mottie. I'm having fun with these emotes http://fc01.deviantart.com/fs12/i/2006/300/d/a/_celebrate__by_GuyFlash.gif

Actually, this is the code for the older editor that is no longer part of GuildPortal... So, if you want to use the emote forum module for the new editor, check out the post over here.

That is how I fixed your code Guppy
