Hi twobears123!

Well, you could work around the problem two ways... both involve adding custom css through the control panel (Control Panel > Custom HTML & Script > Custom CSS > CSS Additions to Standard). Please modify the color settings (in blue) as desired.
  1. Change ALL tables inside of the forum posts to have a dark background with light text:

    table.PostContainer td.MessageBodyCell1 table tr:nth-child(odd) td { background-color: #555; color: #ddd; }
    table.PostContainer td.MessageBodyCell1 table tr td { background-color: #333; color: #ddd; }

  2. Change the Telerik table style (this is for style 3, I'm not sure how to change to a different style)

    table.telerik-reTable-3 tr.telerik-reTableHeaderRow-3 { color: #3a4663; background-color: #C4D1E3; }
    table.telerik-reTable-3 td.telerik-reTableOddCol-3 { background-color: #F7F3F7; color: #3a4663; }
    table.telerik-reTable-3 tr.telerik-reTableFooterRow-3 td { background-color: #C4D1E3; color: #3a4663; }
    table.telerik-reTable-3 td.telerik-reTableHeaderFirstCol-3,
    table.telerik-reTable-3 td.telerik-reTableHeaderLastCol-3,
    table.telerik-reTable-3 td.telerik-reTableHeaderOddCol-3,
    table.telerik-reTable-3 td.telerik-reTableHeaderEvenCol-3 { color: #3a4663; }
    table.telerik-reTable-3 tr.telerik-reTableOddRow-3,
    table.telerik-reTable-3 tr.telerik-reTableEvenRow-3 { color: #666; }
    table.telerik-reTable-3 td.telerik-reTableFirstCol-3,
    table.telerik-reTable-3 td.telerik-reTableLastCol-3,
    table.telerik-reTable-3 td.telerik-reTableEvenCol-3 { background-color: #E7EBF7; color: #3a4663; }

re: theblueslime

this is what it looks like when I post two tables in telerik styles 1 and 3. I'm not sure what to make of your post, kind of confused as how you want me to diagnose the problem

Thanks

I added the telerik-3 custom CSS as you suggested and now it's working again.

I use tables a lot on our forum and this saves a lot of work.

Thanks for all your time

Sorry twobears, I wasn't giving you directions to diagnose it, but explaining to the devs what seems to be the source of the issue. But thanks Mottie, I'll try the manual workaround until this gets resolved.

I'll put a ticket in with the control vendor.. Till they come back with something, Mottie's solution is the way to go.

Aaron could you also put in a ticket about editing in Chrome.... when I copy and paste text FROM the editor in Chrome, every line is wrapped in a span with the background and text color.

Here is an example I copied and pasted from this post in the Help Site Forums.

Try using this code which basically uses the google doc viewer in an iframe
<iframe src="http://docs.google.com/gview?url=http://samplepdf.com/sample.pdf&embedded=truestyle="width:718px; height:700px;frameborder="0"></iframe>
  • The orange and green part of the URL shouldn't change.
  • The red part of the URL should point to your document, it's a PDF in this case; but I believe it will work with other doc types.
  • The style in blue will adjust the size of the iframe you're embedding.
This only happens with Chrome (maybe Safari, but I haven't tested it).
