This is marked "in progress" but it's apparently been in progress for many months.  Any ETA?

Just want to reassure you it's not in limbo. It's a part of the work we're doing with a consulting firm we hired to peek at our database (which has resulted in some nifty performance improvements so far). Once we've completed the optimization phase, then we move on to doing what's necessary to make full text, natural language searching possible. At first it's going to be a hopefully straightforward conversion of the field that holds every single post from one data type to another (that's ~30 million rows now, one per post, and that's with pruning inactive guilds), followed by the creation and population of the full text index.

The biggest worry is the performance hit during the conversion and population phases, and the possibility that we'll need to bring services down altogether during either (or both). We won't know until we try, either. Of course, we'll have their experience, so we should have a better idea the closer we get to actually doing it.

Because of the many points of possible improvement we have yet to address at the database level, though, I have to reiterate what Sandy said -- no ETA just yet.

It's been six more months...  Any ETA yet?
