In my guild website if you click the FAQ section in the Information widget (which is of type Info Sections Widget) you will notice that text in the middle area is highlighted in black for some reason, which makes it difficult to read, oddly enough IE is the only browser that is apparently not affected by the issue. Any idea how to get rid of this? or is this a glitch I should report in the Bug Reports?

Thanks in advance

Odd indeed. Using Firefox, if I scroll the the pop-out mid-way and stretch/shrink the window vertically, the black section expands and contracts. I widened the window and it's actually your main background image coming through, but only when your window is within a certain vertical height range.

I'm at a loss as to why, so I'll let Mottie or another guru figure it out. I am curious myself.

In the meantime I changed the font color so that its readable through the black section. So there is no rush now, take your time Everdark and thanks for the assistance in advance

It's not just you. I repeated this on my Test site. And like you stated, I see this on Firefox and not IE, so it may be a compatibility issue.

What I've determined is happening is the background color is being sized to the current window size. If you stretch or shrink the window, the background color dimension will match it.

Any scrolling below that, the background image fills in the rest until it ends, then the background color takes over again (hence your black line unless you stretch the window large enough to overlap the background image completely).

If you have "Prevent background from scrolling?" enabled, then when you scroll down the page, the background image will persist for the remainder of the page (unless the background image height is smaller than your screen/window).

Hey guys!

Yes, that is very odd indeed! When I tried to set the body background color, it only filled half of the page. When I target the main div, it filled the other half... so I ended up with this CSS. Add the desired CSS to your custom css (Control Panel > Custom HTML & Script > Custom CSS > CSS Additions to Standard).
  • Remove the background image:
    body.ContentBoxBody { background: url(); }
  • Fill the page with your default site background image:
    body.ContentBoxBody { background-repeat: repeat; }
    body.ContentBoxBody div.ContentBoxBody { background: transparent; }
  • Change the background color, no image (adjust color in blue):
    body.ContentBoxBody, body.ContentBoxBody div.ContentBoxBody { background: #000000 url(); }

Nicely done, Mottie!!

Heyoshi, I noticed you added all three, though you only need the last one. He was giving three different options depending on if you, or someone else, use a different site layout stlyle.

A CSS rule is made up of Selectors (link, body, div, etc.) and Declarations (everything between the curvy brackets { } )

If using the same Selectors, CSS will give priority to the one that was written last (similar to the way Links are ordered in CSS (LoVe HAte)). So while you added all three, it only uses the last one which was option 3, "Change the background color, no image" (which is a variation of Option 2).

(I hope that doesn't sound confusing.)
