Witlan,

I know you are burnt out and I am by no means in any sort of rush, but I was working on editing the files and I am stuck. A lot of the files have this at the top:

<?php
 require ("/home/virtual/site19/fst/var/www/lenpal/common.php");

What exactly should I replace that with? I also don't know what a common.php file is as it's not in the download you provided. Is that a file my server has if it supports php? If so then I will contact my host and find my root for that file.

Also when I edited the XSL to point to my site (http://www.vendicta.com/needs/needsxsl.xsl) it comes up broken. Is this because I'm missing my common.php file?

Aside from creating the tables in mySQL is there anything I need to do on that end? Like inserting files?

Thanks again in advance for your help. No rush and if this is too much “teaching” I will do lots of reading and figure it out LOL.

D'oh! I forgot all about that. common.php is a file that contains a lot of common functions I use throughout my personal website. I'll have to look over the files when I get home tonight to see what functions they need (I think there could only possibly be one or two) and make a condensed file for you to add with the previous package of files. Then you'd just need to point to that one file.

I just looked over common.php briefly to see if there are any functions used by those pages, and the only ones I saw were MGHeaderTags() and MGStyleSheet().

If you remove the following from each of the php files, you should be all set:

 require ("/home/virtual/site19/fst/var/www/lenpal/common.php");
 MGHeaderTags();
 MGStyleSheet();

You'll need to manually point to your own CSS file though, using a line like:

<link rel=stylesheet href="http://www.something.com/sunset.css" type="text/css">

(That's what MGStyleSheet() did; it just inserted that line.) Oh, and the printerfriendly.php did the same thing, but with a different, printer-friendly version of the stylesheet. So you'll need to change that as well.

The other function just added some meta tags you really don't need anyway.

I discovered a bug in the edittask.php and volunteer.php files which would allow non-officers to edit other members' tasks and mark them complete. (It was a very noobish coding mistake for which I'll be beating myself up for quite some time.)

Also, per Vlarian's request, I've created a “Delete Task” page that uses the same security setup (sans bug) the other two pages use. At the moment I haven't yet updated the xsl to link to the delete task page. That will probably wait until I get home from work; the xsl is too involved to code between phone calls and other distractions.

I'll make a post when I've completed the XSL change and put an updated .ZIP file in place.

An updated zipped copy of my sloppy, poorly commented, only-slightly-more-neatly-formatted-than-before code is located here. This update corrects the authentication problem I mentioned, includes the “Delete” functionality, and also (for Sadia's convenience) removes all reference to my common.php file and instead inserts links to .CSS files assumed to be in the same folder as the .PHP files.

I included my .CSS files, but if you have a different .CSS file already set up for your site, you can replace mine with your own. (Just be sure to change all files except printerfriendly.php to point to your .CSS file instead of sunset.css. The printerfriendly.php file will use the printneeds.css file I'm providing and should be fine as-is.

Witlan! That is awesome! *HUG* I'm doing this all away from home and the comforts of my own pc and tools. With the help of friends and you I may just get this working a lot sooner than I expected. Thanks for all the hard work and I'm sure your guild really appreciates it too.

I think your guild site is spotlight worthy even without this needs page. Afterall, GP did change the admin site to use your theme

Let me know when you're up and running; I'm trying to keep track of who is using this system for my own ego-bloating purposesAt the moment, Mortis Gladius (me), Legendary Bloodlines (Arathel), and Blades of Glory (Vlarian, and I hope I got the guild name right) have it in place and up and running.
