Mail Notification v6
by Mottie
Description
This mod opens a popup to notify you if you have a new mail message. It was written for users who wish to hide their top menu bar (state bar/log in bar). Or if you just want a bigger message telling you that you have mail. I've set it up to open either a growl window (timed popup) or a facebox (popup you have to close).
For more information on the custom variables, please see
this post
.
To style the growl window (pictured above), use the "Growl Window Styling" Mod or refer to
this post
.
To style the Facebox popup window, please refer to
this post
.

1) Currently we can only see the 5 most recent topics in the widget. Could we have it so that we have a range option like we do for recent posts? It would be more helpful for us to have more recent topics viewable rather than recent posts. Maybe a 5 - 25 option choose-able range?
2) I have "Don't Send E-Mail" checked in my profile settings. Is there a way to make notifications that would go to email instead go to the guildportal mail (subscribed thread notifications, etc)?
3) Is there a way for crafters and buyers to work out the details of their exchange or should they know to send website mail to each other? If they should be using the mail system to work out the details, can the mail address of the player that placed the order be linked into the system notification please?
Also, is there a way for either the crafter and/or the purchaser to mark the order as being "met" so that we don't have all of the crafters of that type try to fill the one order?
I am worried that 1) Several crafters will fill the same order leading to wasted time and materials. 2) Crafters will fill orders before working out which costs and materials they would like in compensation and the purchaser not being able to meet those expectations.

1) you should be able to change this it is in "Display Options" in the forums editor.
2 & 3) I will have Aaron look at these and see if/how the can be added.

1) Got this taken care of and should go out with Friday's update. I think Sandy thought you were talking about the most recent posts in the forum itself.
2) Sure, we can do that.. Actually let me run some queries to see exactly how much of a load that would put on that table.
3) Way it works now is, there's a link over to the right of each order that says "Take Order." Once a crafter has clicked that link and specified the crafting toon as well as the estimated date of completion, "Take Order" is no longer available to anybody else. Just a link for the crafter to click when it's complete, and so on; the workflow ends with the person who placed the order confirming that they received the item(s) and optionally rating the crafter.

Most excellent!
I will check out the ability to view more than 5 topics Friday. Very excited about that.
It will be great getting notifications to subcribed topics via the website mail system. It will be a big help!
Thanks for everything!

Any updates on these two features?
I was able to get 14 recent topics to show now, which is great - thanks! I saved it to show the last 25, but 14 makes me happy.
