Please do this.  It had not even occurred to me that it would not go to their GP mail.  We try to encourage our members to use the site and read their mail, so sending things to their email doesn't make much sense.  We hold them accountable for all of the information sent to the GP mail for game/guild issues and I have some important links in the welcome letter that I had thought was going to every new members GP mail.

I am going to have to resend.

Please let us know if you will be switching the welcome letter to go to their GP mail or not as soon as you have had time to consider the matter.  Thanks.

Still not working.  I applied to our website with an alternate account today, swapped to the admin account and set the new account to "member".  When I logged back into the new account, there was no welcome email waiting for me.

Not appear to be working for us, the Welcome Letter does not appear in the newly accepted members GP-mail inbox.
Have a Welcome Letter defined in the guild's Control Panel > General Settings > Welcome Letter.

When a new applicant clicks the Join Guild link, accepts the Guild Rules, fills in all the application form and submits it, they get the following message in their inbox:
  • From: "System", Subject: "Welcome! App Submitted to <guild name>" (no way to customise this btw)

After their application has been accepted by one of the guild officers, they get only one additional new message:

  • From: "System", Subject: "<guild name> access upgraded." (again, hard-coded message)

There is no trace of my welcome letter  :(

The way the officers (with "Approve/Reject Apps" admin rights) go about accepting an applicant is this:
  1. Clicks on "New Apps (#)" which appears on their menu (# = number of new applicants)
  2. Clicks on an applicant's login name
  3. Views their submission and decides to accept them
  4. Selects "Approval as Member"

I would have expected at the point of Step-4, to have had the Welcome Letter added to the applicant's GP-mail inbox.  So they'd get both a "access upgraded" message AND the guild's defined welcome letter.

Alright, let me have it: do you guys want them to get their welcome letters via e-mail, or web mail?

Or both?

Or make it configurable?

Or hire one of those services to fly a plane over their house with a banner trailing behind?
