I'm just starting my .swf banner and right off the bat I can't get it centered. My wallpaper is 1200px wide and I would like my banner to be the same, but I would like the widgets total width to be 1000px. I can get the banner centered if I make the widgets total width 1200px, but that is not my end goal. Also how to you fix the banner at center once that issue is resolved? What I mean is lets say I minimize the browser, the wallaper seems to center itself, but the banner starts to drift to the right (follows the widgets).

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Savatage!

I'm not 100% sure this will work, but try this:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Style Tools > Page Wrapper > Width - set to 1200 pixels
  2. Now, go to Control Panel > Custom HTML & Script > Custom CSS > CSS Additions to Standard tab, and add this:

    .ContentWrapper { width: 1000px; margin-left: 100px; }

    When I tried it, it didn't seem to work so you might have to add !important after each one, like this:

    .ContentWrapper { width: 1000px !important; margin-left: 100px !important; }

That is great at fullscreen thank you, I do have a couple of follow up questions:

1. How do I keep the banner in place over the center of the wallpaper, when I minimize less than 1200px wide the banner starts to drift to the right?

2. How do I make the link bar 1000px also to match the widgets?

BTW it did require the !important code.

Many thanks,

One more question I forgot to ask *blush*... How do I make a semi-transparent background on the widget tables like http://guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=306909&TabID=2572563 they have? That site looks amazing, I tried making .png's and .gif' and inserting as background image (they were semi-transparnet of course), but they didn't work. Clearly there is a trick, heck even their border images look like they must also?

Hi Savatage!
  1. You may have to dump the floater image (I assume that's the image you mean) and instead add it as a background image to the Banner Area. Add this CSS to your CSS Additions tab:

  2. To do the same to the tab bar, add this CSS:

    .TabBar { width: 1000px; margin-left: 100px; }

  3. It appears that you already have the Page Wrapper background made transparent (or you could add another transparent background here to achieve a layered look), so you just need to make the Content Boxes have a semi-transparent background image. This can be added via the control panel:

    • Go to Control Panel > Style Tools > Content Boxes (Widgets) > Body tab > Background Image
    • Now add a semi-transparent png file. I've made a bunch of backgrounds with different opacities, this is the URL to a black background image at 70% opacity

      http://www.axiomfiles.com/Files/278466/bg-black-70.png

      Change the number in red to change the opacity level - I have 50-100 in 5% increments (e.g. 50, 55, 60, 65... etc)

Again thank you, getting closer!

I wasn't talking about the floater image, I was refering to the banner itself, the .swf.

When minimizing the screen (less than 1200px wide) it drifts to the right, much like the tables below. In thinking about it maybe the wallpaper itself need to be able to drift too? I'm not sure which element now needs the fine tuning. Not that it should matter I don't know a lot of gamers that have smaller desktop sizes, but if it can be setup to be visually correct no matter the browser window size that would be preferred of course.

Again a 1000 thanks!

For the time being I have locked the background from scrolling which in a way helps visually.
