I also started in '99, have quit twice, and played Oblivion, Mass Effect 1 and 2; also Wow, City of Heroes, Dragon Age, Freelancer, all of the Civ's both between and with AC. When I'm playing AC I seldom play much of anything else, which says something for AC's worth even with all its flaws.

Yeah, I somehow avoided WOW.  It seemed too linear and dumbed down when it first came out and that style of MMO never appealed to me.  That was the biggest problem with AC2...all eye candy but no complex loot system, no reason to go back to old areas, not much story at all...but amazing looking.  The tried to make AC2 "for a broader audience"...which is what I have heard from too many people about WOW.

I did play Dragon's Age...never got as into that one for some reason...actually quit after about 40 hours of playtime...never finished the main quest line.  Just didn't do it for me for some reason.
