Welcome to the home of the Hounds of Annwn. Here you can read about the lore of the Hounds, both in the Welsh mythologies and the exploits of our members. Thanks to all who have registered in a timely fashion, I would like to make this place as active as possible. Feel free to fiddle with whatever you guys like, we want to have this enhance everyones experience within the guild. Take full advantage of the Weblog! I see a lot of oppurtunities using it. Also, the chat feature really is fascinating. Troll the forums if you want :P

Yes, I know some of the News is a little out of date, we did make this site a while ago but complications caused it to not be that important. With the growing popularity and respect of our guild, I want to start using it, so bear with some of the older news that seems missplaced. I could delete them but technically they are part of our proud history as a guild.

Alterac Valley Conquest!

     Wow! What a weekend we just had. Four days of almost non-stop Alterac Valley. I really don't know how some of you do it. I myself wanted to finish off grinding out my next level (65) and then joined in the fun. We had many games where if it wasn't for the Hounds, the Alliance would have won. Many games had the Hounds holding out on defense while the offense slowly ground out the kill. I remember one game in particular where Bullrush, Killfast, Oavatoc, Wuvzee, and myself were in the zone, a killing zone, right at the gate to the upper compound that was so much fun I wish we could do that over and over again. Let me know if you were in that game, cuz my memory isn't so good anymore. Lost in the blur of all those deaths.

     When it came to gaining honor, some of us put up some remarkable numbers. Oavatoc grabbed over 59,000 honor, Wuvzee gained at least 47,000, Nihilithak 36,000. I  added 30,00, and I didn't put in nearly as much time as the others. Too bad I'm not 70 so I can spend some of it. Oh well, soon. I want to add some more members' numbers in this post, so would yolu please send me an e-mail with the amounts you gained over this past weekend.  jmbrickley@cox.net

     The work is paying off. Members are getting new high-end PvP gear and now are now taking it into the Arenas, and it is making a difference. Where before we were losing simply because we were being out-geared, we are now winning. Let me know of your improvements and I'll get them into this post.

     Now, that we are done with Super AV weekend, attunments are being run again. See Oavatoc for grouping if you need to get attuned for Kara. Get some rest, we have this week's honored Battleground to get ready for.

Guildmaster's Corner
     Many members have expressed an interest in how the Guild leadership and membership is structured. Some want to know why everyone is a Pack Member. Others want to know how they can become Guild Officers. Perhaps a small history of the formation of the Guild is in order.
     When it was decided to re-roll Horde, approximately forty or so friends came over to the Maiev server to start over in the service of the Horde. Since some of these people were already in a guild, the rest of us joined as a matter of convienence. Unfortunately, Alts were limited to one for each member. It wasn't long before some members were many levels ahead of their bretheren and the lure of other guilds who could better help them proved too attractive. Almost overnight the membership went from around forty people all the way down to less than twenty. People were mad at others for leaving and still others were mad because they didn't. Some members were booted for not playing enough, or not checking in enough. Others were booted just because.
     At that time, I had an Alt Rogue who for no other reason than I liked the name, created the guild, Hounds of Annwn. Several of the people who were members of the original guild were keeping their Alts in the HoA. After one serious meeting of about ten people, who were still in the main guild, it was decided they would all move over to the Hounds en mass.
     To help preserve the friendships of these people, I decided right then and there that no one was going to have power or expectations over another. This would be a guild based on cooperation, not competition. The idea was to have fun, not work. It has been my experience that having Class Officers gets in the way of having a guild that is free of drama. Too many cooks spoil the broth, as the saying goes. So, everyone is a Pack Member. Everyone is equal.
     We do however, need a few members who have a higher level of responsibility. The Guildmaster (Nudd), and his Assistant Guildmaster (Arawn, aka Gwyn ap Nudd). It is the Assistant Guildmaster that runs the day to day Guild business. I use the name "assistant" loosely, because he is really a Co-Guildmaster. Each has their respective responsibilities and duties. We also have a few members who are designated as Guild "Organizers." These people are not Guild Officers, but rather are given that name because when the two Guildmasters are not on, we want some people to feel free to set up Battleground runs and Instances. Feel free to contact them if you want to "get organized."
     PvP and PvE are both viable ways to get gear and to get total satisfaction from the game. Both have their place and will be supported in this guild. However, PvP is our main focus, and we are real good at it. The gear that can be earned from Battlegrounds and Arenas is excellent and represents a viable path for a player to follow to get "geared up." PvP (Battlegrounds) will be our featured offering, but when enough of the right mix of members is online, PvE can and does get arranged. Now that we have more level 70 characters, I see both PvP and PvE, as well as Arena Teams becoming a lot of fun.

     Remember, it's just a game. Have fun!
